Random Acts of Kindness

It’s #RAKweek2016 Have You Done Your Part?

Frustrated with the violence and terror that has swept the world in 2015 but feel at a loss when it comes to doing something to help at a personal level? Look no further. Take a stand with us to do something in 2016. “Thoughts and Prayers” are so 2015. Words without actions do nothing but add to the noise. In 2016 challenge yourself to be kinder. Join the movement to change the world by spreading infectious kindness across  the globe. Mink and Rich along with the Initative for Global Kindess, is proud to introduce Operation Kinder in 2016. Together we invite you to take part in the #kinderin2016 challenge. One random act of kindness per day is all you need to commit to in order complete the challenge, though more is always welcome. Acts can be as small as a smile and as big as a kidney, every little thing helps.

Whether you shovel your neighbors sidewalk , let a mother with little kids in front of you in the checkout line or give a stranger your spare ticket to a game, these random acts of kindness all contribute to the overall greater good of society. Kindness is contagious and by spreading it we can begin to rid the world of the destructive evil that has come to threaten our very existence.

If you think you can’t make a difference, your wrong. You don’t have be rich or even give a dime, a smile goes a long way, a pint of blood even further, a kidney could save a life. Next time someone cuts you off in traffic wave at them and give them a friendly smile instead of giving them the finger. Do it as a joke at first if you have to, but eventually you will fool yourself into making it a habit.

By being kinder not only will you be helping others, but you will be helping yourself. As the Dali Lama says “if you want others to be happy practice compassion, if you want to be happy yourself practice compassion.”

While kindness should be done out of the goodness of one’s heart and not in exchange for praise, recognition or personal gain, there is no denying that bragging is part of our social media centered world. Would it be such a terrible thing if the whole world was bragging about kindness on social media? I could think of a whole lot of things WAY worse. So do good, and share often!
